As the home of the BBC for over 50 years, the Grade II Listed Building was then purchased by Stanhope and partners in 2012 as part of a major redevelopment. The site has since been given a new lease of life, consisting of residential buildings, offices, fully operational TV studios used by the BBC, a hotel and members club operated by Soho House, a gym, cinema and extensive new food and retail.
Plot E will form part of a wider Masterplan on the BBC Television Centre, in White City, off Wood Lane. The building itself will be a Residential Development and forms part of Phase 2 of the Masterplan, and will be situated adjacent to Plot G, which will also be developed at the same time.
The site falls within the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
The new Plot E site is bound by Wood Crecent to the north, by an access road to the west, Plot G to the east and Plot F to the south.
The proposal for the residential development within Plot E, is for a 9 storey modern crescent shaped block of a total of 180 residential units and a single level of semi-basement car park. Plot E will also include a row of 3 storey townhouses and a courtyard providing outside space to the residents. There will also be a pocket park situated to the east of the development, adjacent to Plot G.
